Task 1: how does Emmet come across? How effective would this trailer be in promoting the film?
Emmet is portrayed as an ordinary person but has the potential to be someone special. He is very cheerful and happy as he doesn't ever show any case of sadness and he is always up beat and making the most of who he is. To be 'special' it comes with personality traits and physical traits such as: being brave, a good leader and big and strong. When he follows wild style and is talking to all the other hero's he says that he doesn't look like a good leader and that your right by thinking that. Everyone then starts shouting and throwing things to show a sign of hate that he isn't the person that would save the city.
This trailer helps promoting the film as it shows people a quick debrief of the story without showing anything important. They make people want to watch this as they make the trailer funny. The 'theme' song of this movie is a very catchy song will helps people notice this brand and type of movie when people hear the song.

ReplyDeleteYou show good understanding that Emmet is constructed as the 'ordinary guy' and should then go on to support the ways in which he falls far short of having the qualities necessary for a hero: he is depicted as weak (feeling exhausted after one star jump); indecisive (he needs a manual to tell him what to do); he accepts being bullied (when overcharged for coffee); lacks inventiveness (with his design).
For the second question, you note the humour and upbeat tune and should also refer to the broad appeal (to both children and adults) and refer to the action adventure themes.
