The Cold War

In the Observer, I learnt that in the 1960's everyone was worried about the cold war. The cold war was tension between the United States and the Soviet union. They both started of as allies but they have started to aggregate each other and this has led to them both to start to threaten each other. People were concerned that this would lead to nuclear war which would wipe out the whole country as the bombs are very dangerous and will do a lot of damage. Both the United States and the Soviet union both had  a hatred towards each other as they both were wanting different ideas. The soviets wanted to expand into Eastern Europe which concerned many Americans as they thought the Soviets were planning an invasion over America. The soviets claimed that they were just trying to help create peace after hearing the views that the Americans had about them expanding into Eastern Europe.

  1. Late work.
You note two aspects of historical and social contexts - The Cold War (more of which can be understood by reading the BBC Bitesize https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/z3h9mnb/revision/1)
as well as the lack of representation of women because of patriarchal attitudes.
